Latvian mythology

Kā lācīši man zirdziņi,
Kā ozoli arājiņi;
As bears are my horses,
as oaks the ploughmen;
Kā šūniņa man maizīite,
Kā bitīite cepējiņa.
As honeycomb my bread,
as a bee my baker of bread.
Es nelaužu liepas zaru,
Es jau pati liepa biju;
I don’t break the linden branch;
I was linden myself.
Ozoliņa zaru lauzu,
Man vajaga arājiņu.
I broke the oak branch;
I need a ploughman.
