Coinbase stops reissuing physical crypto cards lost in mail

In the last quarter of 2022 there was high amount of requests for Coinbase cryptocurrency debit cards that caused the delivery to take 4-6 weeks instead of the normal 1 week. At the same time, Coinbase decided that they will integrate Coinbase Card with their reward system and abandon the external application. A lot of users hadn't received their old cards before Coinbase started issuing new cards. Coinbase was supposed to send e-mails to holders of old cards, but some users never received those e-mails. When they contacted customer service, they were told lost cards will not be reissued and that they should reapply to get the new card instead. When some users tried to apply for the new card, they were greeted by error message that the issuer hasn't enabled NFC for their card and that the card couldn't be added to Google Wallet.
